Rio Nexpa is an internationally recognized surf destination located in Mexico’s southern Pacific Coast state of Michoacán.  The Village of Nexpa is a beachfront village with collection restaurants, hotel cabanas and small stores. It is internationally recognized as a world-class surf destination, but remains rustic and untouched by commercial development.

Authentically Mexican, the village of Rio Nexpa moves at a relaxed pace where the traditional siesta is still a part of everyday life. Local restaurants line the beach where traditional Mexican dishes are made to order from local produce and the day’s fresh catch.

Caleta De Campos – a ten minute drive to the south – is the closest town to Rio Nexpa, where you can access essential services, including gas, pharmacy / doctor, and food supplies. Caleta De Campos with its protected bay is ideal for swimming and beach lounging; there are many beachfront restaurants and local shops, Caleta is a popular destination location during national holidays.

For additional services such as ATM, supermarket, and emergency medical attention Lazaro Cardenas, an industrialized port city, is located 45 minutes drive to the south.

We cannot really review Olavaquero justly as we have not stayed there. We booked a week in August but were not able to come out. However, before we had to cancel we had many questions and they were all responded to in a prompt and timely fashion. Pat, the owner, was very informative and accommodating even before we came. When we were forced to cancel the trip, the refund was arranged without problem. I can't say anything about the actual place (although it looks breathtakingly gorgeous), but the owner runs his business well.
